Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) has reduced the price of gold.
BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring announced the revised gold price in a notice signed by the Committee's Chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin on Monday.
As per the latest decision, the price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold has been cut by Tk 2,216 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing down the price of one bhori gold, including VAT, to Tk 221,966. The new price took effect at 10:00 am.
Earlier, on July 10, BAJUS raised the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 2,216 per bhori. Just three days later, the Association adjusted the price by the same amount.
Under the revised rates, the price of 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 2,100 to Tk 211,993 per bhori, while 18-carat gold is now priced at Tk 182,075 per bhori after a cut of Tk 1,808. On the other hand, the price of traditional-method gold jewellery has been lowered by Tk 1,458 to Tk 148,774 per bhori.
BAJUS has also revised silver price, including VAT.
The price of 22-carat silver has decreased by Tk 117 to Tk 4,607 per bhori. The price of 21-carat silver has been cut by Tk 175 to Tk 4,374 per bhori, while 18-carat silver now costs Tk 3,791 per bhori after a reduction of Tk 116.
The price of traditional-method silver has fallen by Tk 58 to Tk 2,858 per bhori.
