Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced new gold prices, setting a record high for the market, reports UNB.
In a press release issued on Saturday, BAJUS stated that the price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 2,613 per bhori, bringing the new rate to Tk 140,061 per bhori, the highest in the country's history.
The revised prices for other categories are as follows: 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk 133,704 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk 114,599 per bhori, and traditional method gold at Tk 94,117 per bhori.
BAJUS explained that the price hike was necessary due to rising costs in the local market for raw gold and other factors. The new rates came into effect on Sunday.
So far this year, gold prices have been adjusted 43 times.
