Gold price increases by Tk 4,432 per bhori

The price of gold at the local market has risen by Tk 4,432 per bhori (11.664 grams).
The latest hike has pushed the rate of 22-carat gold to Tk 230,772 per bhori, including VAT, under the revised pricing.
BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring at a meeting on Monday took the decision on the hike.
In an official notification signed by Committee Chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shahin, the BAJUS said the new rates came into effect at 10:00 am on the day.
According to the revised structure, the price of 21-carat gold was fixed at Tk 220,391 per bhori, 18-carat at Tk 189,248, and traditional gold at Tk 154,606 per bhori.
The latest hike followed two consecutive price reductions on June 19 and June 20.
Meanwhile, silver price remains unchanged, with VAT applicable at 5 per cent.
The rate was set at Tk 5,249 per bhori for 22-carat, Tk 5,016 for 21-carat, Tk 4,257 for 18-carat and Tk 3,208 for traditional silver.
