Govt to make all islands as tourism havens

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Mahbub Ali on Wednesday said the government has set a target to make all the islands across the country as tourism havens with a view to attracting more local and international tourists. "Our aim is to make all tourist destinations more attractive for both domestic and foreign tourists," he said while speaking at a freshers' reception of Tourism and Hospitality Management Department of Dhaka University at a city hotel. The state minister said the government is exploring new tourist attractions across the country. "Tourism will be one of the largest industries in the country soon under the skilled and dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he said. Dhaka University's Business Dean Professor Shiblee Rubayeth-ul-Islam, Chairman of Tourism and Hospitality Management Department Professor Bodruzzaman Bhuiyan and Hotel Intercontinental General Manager James P Macdonald also spoke on the occasion. — BSS
