Mahmudur Rahman has been elected Chairman of the Dhaka Regional Committee (DRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and Md Akizur Rahman its secretary, with effect from June 24.
They were elected at a meeting of the committee.
Mahmudur Rahman is the immediate past secretary and currently serving in the position of Director (Assurance & Advisory) at ACNABIN, Chartered Accountants.
Mr. Rahman qualified as a chartered accountant in 2012. Currently, he is a member of DRC-ICAB and a member of a few other Committees. He is also serving as a resource person in the ICAB Academic Campus, other professional institutions and Universities.
Mr. Rahman completed his MBA and BBA, majoring in accounting and information systems, from the University of Dhaka. He also completed CIMA from the UK.
He is also the Treasurer of the Accounting Alumni, University of Dhaka.
Md. Akizur Rahman is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).
He obtained his master's degree in accounting from Jagannath University in 2006. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2012 and completed his articleship with S. F. Ahmed & Co., Chartered Accountants.
He has professional experience of 20+ years with local and international organisations. Currently, he serves as a partner at Akther Amir & Co., Chartered Accountants.
He has been working with ICAB since qualifying as a chartered accountant and has served as a member of various steering committees of ICAB.
