KWASA bottled water plant to open in July

KHULNA, Apr 10 (BSS): The Bottled Water Treatment Plant (BWTP) of Khulna Water and Sewerage Authority (KWASA) is expected to be launched in July.

About 80 per cent work on the plant being built in the city's Mujgunni area has been completed, KWASA sources said.

The plant will have a capacity to produce over 6,000 liters of safe water every day and earn huge revenue, turning the Khulna WASA into a profitable organisation, the sources said.

With a view to supplying safe drinking water to the city dwellers, the KWASA took the initiative to set up the plant on a 14-acre plot in 2016. The cost of the government-financed project was estimated at Tk 200 million.

Talking to BSS, project manager of the plant and also superintendent engineer of Khulna WASA Khan Selim Ahmed said the project would run commercially.
