Midland Bank provides assistance to family of late Abul Kalam

Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank, hands over documents of the financial assistance to Irin Akter Priya, wife of the late Abul Kalam, at the bank's Head Office in Dhaka on Thursday.
The Midland Bank family has extended financial assistance of Tk 1.5 million to the family of Abul Kalam, who tragically lost his life in the recent metro-rail bearing-pad accident in Dhaka on October 27.
The bank provided Tk 500,000 from its Islami Banking Fund under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, reflecting its ongoing commitment to social wellbeing. And the remaining Tk 1.0 million was donated by the Midland Bank family members.
Md. Ahsan-uz Zaman, Managing Director & CEO of Midland Bank, handed over documents of the financial assistance to Irin Akter Priya, wife of the late Abul Kalam, in a simple ceremony at the bank's Head Office in Dhaka on Thursday, says a press statement.
Didarul Islam, Chief Financial Officer, and Syed Sakibuzzaman, Head of the Islami Banking Division, along with other senior officials were also present.
As part of the assistance, Midland Bank family arranged two MDB Saalam Family Support custodial accounts, each containing Tk 750,000, for the couple's minor children -- Abdullah Abrar and Parisa Mariam Sura.
