Mosharaf joins Commerce Bank as MD, CEO

Mr. Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain joined Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited as Managing Director and CEO on Thursday, says the bank in a statement.

Before joining BCBL, he was Managing Director and CEO of Islamic Finance and Investment Limited (IFIL), First Finance Limited and Additional Managing Director of Uttara Bank Limited.

He started his career with Uttara Bank Limited as a probationary officer in 1987. In his 32 years of career in Uttara Bank Limited, he held important position like Additional Managing Director, Chief Risk Officer, Head of Credit, Zonal Head, Branch Manager of different branches including local office. As a member of senior management and 2nd top executive of Uttara Bank Limited he was directly attached with the supervision of credit Division, Human Resources Division, Banking Control & Common Service Division, Accounts Division, ICT Division, Risk Management Division (As Chief Risk Officer) Research and Planning Department, etc.

His areas of expertise are Business Development, HRM, Sales and Marketing, SME Financing, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Recovery of Classified Investment, Compliance, Monitoring, Supervision, etc.

Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain was born in a Muslim family of Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla district. He has obtained B.Com(Hons) and M.Com in Accounting from The University of Dhaka and completed Banking Diploma parts 1& 2(DAIBB).
