Nasir backs Ctg port workers' demands

CHITTAGONG, Nov 14: Mentioning that various demands of Chittagong Port workers have remained unheeded for a long time, Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin has said their demands deserve attention of the concerned authorities.

The demands include treatment of the workers getting injured while performing duties, implementation of the commitment of the shipping minister made in the Port Advisory Committee meetings, group insurance and wages on the basis of tonnage of the workers engaged in the GCB berths.

Mayor Nasir Uddin also said he will talk about the workers' demands with the chairman of the Chittagong Port Authority, the berth operators and other port users so that the demands are met.
