NASSA Mainland Garments will resume its operations tomorrow (Wednesday) and pay March wages on April 12.
The decision came at an emergency meeting headed by Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury at his secretariat office in the city on Monday a day after workers' road blockade, meeting sources said.
The factory had remained shut since the last Eid due to financial constraints.
Some 700 workers of NASSA Mainland blocked the Tejgaon Link Road on Sunday, which prompted the government intervention to resolve the issue.
Workers withdrew the blockade after the minister assured them of holding an emergency meeting on Monday to address their demands.
While presiding over the meeting, the labour minister said the government's priority is to keep factories operational in the greater interest of employment.
Speaking at the meeting, Mahdi Amin, adviser to the Prime Minister, said no operational factory run by a board of directors should be shut down due to the absence of any individual or legal complexities.
Highlighting the financial and bank-related complications faced by the company, NASSA Group Vice Chairman Ranjan Chowdhury sought the ministry's assistance in resolving the issues.
