Dairy farmers’ group forms executive body

The National Dairy Development Forum was launched through the formation of a 13-member executive committee. Lawmaker Umme Kulsum Srity has been nominated as president, while Mohammad Anisur Rahman, Director of BRAC Dairy and Food, as General Secretary. The executive committee has been formed at a meeting held in Dhaka recently. An advisory committee was also formed at the meeting. Other members of the Executive Committee are Vice-President-Uzma Chowdhury, Director (Corporate Finance) of PRAN-RFL Group, Dr. Quazi M Emdadul Huque, former Director General of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute and ED of Lal Teer Livestock Limited, Joint Secretary-Dr. KBM Saiful Islam, Chairman and Associate Professor of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Treasurer- Sheikh Ali Ahmed, Research Consultant of Human Development Research Centre and Organising Secretary-Dr. Khalid Hossain, Programme Manager of Oxfam in Bangladesh. The Executive Members are Anowarul Haq, Director of CARE Bangladesh, Jahid Hossain, Senior Dairy Consultant, Mostafizur Rahman, Deputy General Manager, Milk Vita, Dr. Golam Rabbani, Assistant Project Director, CCAC project, Department of Livestock Services, Dr. Rakibur Rahman, Chief-Dairy (Extn) of PRAN Dairy Ltd and Mushfiqur Rahman Dipu, a dairy entrepreneur of SR Dairy. — Statement

BJMA reelects Shams-uz Zoha chairman

The Bangladesh Jute Mills Association (BJMA) re-elected Muhammad Shams-uz Zoha its chairman for the 2018-2019 period. Sk Akram Hossain, managing director (MD) of Afil Jute Mills Ltd, was elected as the vice-chairman of the association. Mr Zoha is the MD and CEO of Jute Spinners Ltd. He is also one of directors of The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and director of Shams Group of Companies. Other members of the newly-elected executive committee (EC) of the BJMA are M.A. Raihan, director of Nowapara Jute Mills Ltd, Kazi Syedul Alam Babul, MD of National Jute Mills Ltd, Harunoor Rashid, MD of Alhaj Jute Mills Ltd, Mohammad Shahjahan, MD of Madina Jute Industries Ltd, Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman Patwari, director of Alijan Jute Mills Ltd, and Sarwar Alam, chairman of Quasem Jute Mills Ltd.
