NRBC Bank gets new MD

Khondoker Rashed Maqsood has joined the NRB Commercial Bank Ltd. as its Managing Director and CEO. Earlier, he was the managing director & Citi country officer for CitiBank N.A. Bangladesh for over six years. Prior to that, he was working at Citi Indonesia as Managing Director for global transaction services. Recently, he acted as the advisor to the Board of MIDAS Financing Limited. Mr Maqsood has 25 years of outstanding banking experience at home and abroad. He is considered the pioneer of transaction banking in Bangladesh with vast experience in Corporate & Correspondent Banking, Private Equity, M&A, Back Stopped Facility, Debt Restructuring, International Bond, and Securities & Funds Services. He completed his MBA from the Institution of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, in 1992 and started his career at American Express Bank in Dhaka. — Statement

AFM Barkatullah

New MD of Nat'l Finance Limited

The National Finance Limited (NFL), a new generation financial institution, has appointed AFM Barkatullah as its Managing Director. Barkatullah brings with him 16 years of experience in different global and local banks and financial institutions. He has started his career with Citi NA and continued to grow in Citibank NA, HSBC, Standard Chartered and IPDC. Prior to joining NFL, he has served IPDC Finance Limited as deputy managing director for five years and played a key role in its transformation. NFL is a non-banking financial institution established in 2001, which has started its operation under regulation of Bangladesh Bank in 2002. — Statement
