100 pc electrification programme opens in 15 upazilas today

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the 100 per cent electrification programme in 15 upazilas across the country today (Thursday). The upazilas are Dhamrai in Dhaka, Nikli in Kishoreganj, Rauzan in Chattogram, Pirganj, Khoksa, Debhata, Rupsha, Fultali, Dighalia, Bagatipara, Bera, Bianibazar, Chuadanga Sadar, Dinajpur Sadar and Birampur. Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board has installed 13,100 km electricity lines in the 15 upazilas and given a total of 799,527 connections. — Statement

133 UPs under optical fibre connectivity

A total of 133 union parishads in six districts were connected through optical fibre cable network under the Info Sarker-III phase on Wednesday. The six districts are Chuadanga, Munshiganj, Kushtia, Jhalakathi, Jhenaidah and Gopalganj. — BSS
