RPGCL holds annual general meeting

The 30th Annual General Meeting of Rupantarita Prakritik Gas Company Limited, a company of Petrobangla, was held recently at Platinum Suites, Banani in Dhaka. The meeting was presided over by Abul Mansur Md. Faizullah, Chairman of Petrobangla and Chairman of Board of Directors of RPGCL. Shareholder of the company, Directors of RPGCL Board and Managing Director of RPGCL Md. Quamruzzaman were present at the meeting. Senior officials from Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Petrobangla and its subsidiary organizations attended the AGM. — Statement

Govt to organise IT job fair in Ctg

The government has taken an initiative to organise an IT job fair in Chittagong to bring both jobseekers and employers on a single platform. As part of the initiative, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance (LICT) project of BCC under ICT Division in collaboration with e-Commerce platform Pickaboo and UK-based Ernst and Young (EY) is going to organise an "Pickaboo presents Chittagong IT-ITES Job Fair-2017" on October 26 at GEC Convention Center, officials said. They said leading 50 Information Technology (IT) and IT-enabled Services (IT-ITES) companies and 10,000 job seekers are expected to attend the job fair to be inaugurated by State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak. The IT companies are likely to recruit some jobseekers on-the-spot during the job fair based on their best performance to demonstrate the assignments given earlier to them, they said. Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Swapan Kumar Sarker said the job fair was a part of the initiatives of LICT Project of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and it has planned to hold a series of similar job fairs across the country in the days to come aimed at assembling both jobseekers and employers on a single venue. He said the "Pickaboo presents Chittagong IT-ITES Job Fair-2017" would offer "a great opportunity" for the graduates who have already received training conducted by EY under LICT project. The EY, which was appointed by LICT project to provide world-class IT training to 30,000 graduates of colleges and universities, has so far trained 14,000 graduates, said LICT Project Director Md Rezaul Karim. He said that the job fair will bridge between jobseekers and the employers and it will establish direct contact among them. — BSS
