Mobile court fines six business houses in Khulna

A mobile court of Khulna district administration in separate drives fined two hotels and four shops Tk 125,000 in the city for adulteration. "Executive Magistrate Md Rashedul Islam on Tuesday conducted the anti-adulteration drives with the assistance of police and Directorate of National Consumers' Right Protection," said a press release issued by Additional Police Super SM Al Beruni of Armed Police Battalion, Khulna on Wednesday. The court fined Castle Salam Tk 50,000 and Hotel Tiger Garden Tk 50,000 for producing unhygienic foods. Later, the mobile court fined Large Pharma located at Khanjahan Ali Road Tk 10,000 and Prince Enterprise at Lower Jessore Road Tk 10,000 for not mentioning manufacturing and expiry date and retail price on some products. The court also fined Akter Medical Hall located at Rupsha Trafic intersection Tk 3,000 and Mehedi Traders Tk 2,000 for violating clause 53 of Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, the release added. Executive Magistrate Md Rashedul Islam said anti adulteration drives would continue in future to ensure pure foodstuffs for citizens and strict implementation of the consumer rights production act. — BSS

MTB receives PCI DSS certificate

PCI DSS certification is considered as one of the most prestigious certificates for any compliant financial service providers in digital payment system.
