Meditex Expo from May 3

A three-day exposition of medical and healthcare equipment will begin in the city on May 3 to showcase latest innovations from home and abroad. The '11th Meditex Bangladesh International Expo 2018' will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). The Conference and Exhibition Management Services Ltd. (CEMS Global), organiser of the exposition, announced the fair at a press conference at the National Press Club on Tuesday. Two other concurrent events related to healthcare services styled as the '4thBangladesh Clinical Lab Expo 2018' and the '3rd International Health Tourism and Services Expo 2018' will also take place at the same venue. Around 120 companies from 18 countries, including Bangladesh, Australia, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Korea, Canada, Taiwan, India, UK and the US will participate in the exposition. Petrobangla cos' staffs register protest

Leaders of registered CBA and non-CBA bodies of 13 companies under Petrobangla vowed on Monday to resist any decision to deduct from their salaries the 5.0 per cent of profits given earlier to the staffs for five years. They also said they would protest any illogical decision of the gas and petroleum sector companies, if those are not in line with the labour law. They made the announcement at a discussion at the Titas Gas Employees Union (CBA) office. Council convener Kazim Uddin chaired the meeting while member secretary Liakat Ali moderated it.— FE Report
