BGCCI holds business seminar

A business seminar was hosted by the Bangladesh-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BGCCI). The seminar titled as "Pharma Sector of Bangladesh: The Next Big Thing!" discussed the growth potentials of the pharma sector and how it would be one of the most prolific driving forces of Bangladesh's economy in the upcoming days. Speakers termed the pharma sector one of the most promising investable sectors with the potentials as high as apparels. Among many other dignitaries and diplomats, the German ambassador Thomas Prinz attended the business meeting. In his speech as the special guest, he said, "I can tell you that more and more German companies are getting interested about Bangladeshi market." He also added, "I am really happy to see the German companies working in Bangladesh. But I can see that there are more chances to do well here with some required changes. And in addition I see a number of German companies contributing largely… from infrastructure to agriculture and services." President of the BGCCI Tawfiq Ali is hopeful that such kind of initiative by his chamber would help Bangladesh attract more investors seeking business opportunities in Bangladesh. On the other hand, the local entrepreneurs will be availing more scope of work due to the BGCCI's sector-centric business networking approach. The pharma sector is one of Bangladesh's success stories and one of the most technologically-advanced sectors, he said. Keynote speaker of the event Abdul Muktadir, chairman and managing director of Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd, said, "Incepta as a Bangladeshi company doesn't want to confine itself to a country or in a region, rather Incepta wants to produce products that are meant for everyone, everywhere." — Statement
