New chairman takes charge of Ctg port
CHITTAGONG, Jan 30: Zulfiquer Aziz took charges of the Chittagong Port Authority as its chairman on Monday. He has replaced M Khaled Iqbal. Prior to shouldering the responsibility of the Chittagong Port chairman, Mr Aziz had been serving the country's prime seaport as Member (Engineering) for the last five years. He was born in Pabna on October 18, 1963. After passing HSC, he joined the Bangladesh Navy as a cadet in January 1984 and had his B Sc in mechanical engineering from BUET in 1989 Masters. In 1992, he completed the Marine Engineering Specialisation in India. Mr Aziz took the Port Management Training from the Netherlands in 2016 and during the professional career, he performed duties on different status in the Navy headquarters, different ships, dockyards, Khulna Shipyard and other responsible positions successfully, port sources said. He joined the Chittagong Port Authority as Member (Engineering) of the CPA Board on deputation in 2012. — Our Correspondent
