Expatriates' welfare minister meets Mauritius President
Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam said that Bangladesh is ready to send skilled workers as per the demands of the Mauritius government. "Now, Bangladesh is developing more skilled and trained workers and the country is ready to send any type of skilled and trained workers to fulfill the demands of the Mauritius government," he said. He made the comments while meeting Mauritius President Dr Ameenah Gurib-Fakim at his State House in Mauritius on Monday. Nurul Islam expressed his gratitude to the Mauritius government for taking Bangladeshi workers. The Mauritius President praised the activities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and said that Bangladesh is moving forward under her dynamic leadership. She also praised the overall development activities of the Bangladesh government including women empowerment and progress in economic field. Nurul Islam urged the Mauritius government to recruit more workers from Bangladesh. He congratulated the Mauritius President on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and invited her to visit Bangladesh. Senior official of the Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry were present in the meeting. — BSS
Navana Pharma holds sales confce
Navana Pharmaceuticals Ltd. arranged its Annual Sales & Marketing Conference 2018 at International Convention City Bashundhara, Dhaka on Sunday. Dr. Ali Reza Baksh, Managing Director of the company, urged everybody to work on meeting the challenges and taking the opportunities the industry offers. He highlighted the strategies for the company to establish Navana as a top pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh. He also distributed awards to the top-performing employees of human health and animal health division. Akhil Chandra Bhowmik, Executive Director, presented strategic issues for 2018. Veg fair fetches Tk 6.0m in sales
Vegetables worth of Tk. 6.0 million (60 lakh) were sold at the three-day National Vegetable Fair. The fair concluded in the city on Tuesday. Senior Secretary of Agriculture Ministry, Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah said this while addressing the closing ceremony of the fair as the chief guest. Terming the third such fair a success, he said the number of visitors had increased this time compared to two previous versions. Agriculture Secretary stressed the need for the development of local vegetables and fruits rather than producing foreign ones. — UNB
