ONE Bank gets new managing director

Muhit Rahman, a seasoned banker, joined ONE Bank PLC as its Managing Director on Sunday, says a press statement.

Mr Muhit brings with him more than 30 years of experience in corporate, institutional and investment banking, having served in senior leadership positions at Standard Chartered Bank and previously at American Express Bank.

His career spans diverse areas, including corporate & investment banking, financial institutions, financial markets, structured finance, capital markets and strategic balance sheet management.

Prior to joining ONE Bank, Mr Muhit was Managing Director and Head of Financial Institutions at Standard Chartered Bank, Bangladesh, where he was responsible for managing key relationships with the banks & NBFIs, central bank, multilateral agencies, development organisations and public sector entities.

He began his career at American Express Bank in 1995 and joined Standard Chartered in 2005.

He holds an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka, and has undertaken several executive & leadership programs at global institutions, including Cambridge, Oxford, LSE, UC Berkeley, Columbia and INSEAD.
