The three-day Paptech Expo-2019 ended on Saturday in the capital, pulling in visitors and stakeholders in their multitudes.
Leading paper technology suppliers and manufacturers like MRBD Paptech Limited, Lina Group and Partex Limited took part in the exposition at International Convention City Bashundhara.
The participants expressed their happiness over a huge response they received and said they fetched some new orders from the exhibition.
"MRBD Paptech Limited supplies technical know-how to leading paper producers like Meghna Group, Bashundhara Group, Partex Group and Lina Group," said MRBD Paptech Chairman Md Manzil Hossain Khan.
Citing that the fair aimed to attract new entrepreneurs in the paper industry, he said there are 106 paper producing industries in the country.
Of the companies, Mr Khan said, at least 70 organisations pass busy time, producing paper round the clock.
There is a huge demand for power-saving technology in the paper industry and the MRBD is only organisation that is imparting the expertise, he stated.
"We're supplying almost all the machinery that is needed in a paper industry. We're providing a one-stop solution," Mr Khan mentioned.
Arif Ahmed, a paper manufacturer, said he dreamt for long to trade in commodities like tissue paper and diaper through his empirical knowledge in the industry.
"The demand for kids' diaper is increasing in Bangladesh. So, scope is aplenty to earn a better profit in this sector," he added.
"I wanted to visit China to watch machinery, but I seized an opportunity to see a lot of modern machinery on parade at the fair," Mr Ahmed went on to say.
A total of 150 local and overseas organisations took part in the expo from 17 countries.
They showcases pulp, paper, paper-producing machinery, packaging, converting chemical and other equipment related to the paper industry.
Pantho Shaha, general manager of Lina Group, said he has been in this industry for the past 20 years.
"Lina is lucky to produce paper through automation system for first time in Bangladesh. Today, a silent revolution has taken place in the domestic paper industry," he added.
Mr Shaha said the country is now producing world-class paper. Even textbooks are also being produced with own paper, whereas we had to import paper a few years ago."
