Poverty won't exist: Nasrul Hamid

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said Friday that the present government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working for the overall development of the country.

"Poverty will not exist, if the common people choose Awami League in the next general elections," he told a function of the 50th founding anniversary of Chunkutia Girls High School in Keraniganj, reports BSS.

With school managing committee chairman Md Aslam in the chair, it was addressed among others by Upazila Chairman Shahin Ahmed, Upazila Muktijoddha Commander Md Shahjahan, Shuvaddhya Union Parishad Chairman Md Iqbal Hossain and Chunkutia Girls High School Headmaster KM Ilias.

Later, the state minister distributed checks for Tk 200,000 to five schools each to buy a computer.
