Remittance inflow jumps 21pc in eight days

Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 21.2 per cent in the eight days of December to $1,008 million, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued on Tuesday.
During the same period last year, the country's remittance inflow was $831 million, reports BSS.
During the July to December 8 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $14,046 million, up from $11,969 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
