CHATTOGRAM, Nov 05: South Korea, one of the major foreign investors in Bangladesh's different sectors including readymade garment (RMG), is now planning to invest in the country's health sector.
"We are planning to invest in Bangladesh's health sector now. South Korean companies are very interested to invest in Bangladesh as work facilities available here now are conducive (to making investment) and also (Bangladeshi) workers are very sincere," said ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to Bangladesh Lee Jang-keun during a meeting with Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) president Mahbubul Alam in the port city on Thursday.
The newly-appointed ROK envoy made a courtesy call on the CCCI chief at World Trade Centre (WTC) of the chamber.
Addressing the meeting, Lee Jang-keun said South Korea is the sixth largest investor in Bangladesh. "Around 200 South Korean companies have invested in Bangladesh. The Korean Export Processing Zone (KEPZ) is the best example of the friendship of the people of the two countries," he mentioned.
