Saturday mkt showcasing women's creativity launches today

The first-ever 'Saturday market' dedicated to celebrating women's creativity and entrepreneurship will be launched in the capital today (Saturday).

The daylong event titled 'Women of Worth and Wonder (WOW)' will be held at the 25th-floor ballroom of the Crowne Plaza hotel in Gulshan from 10:30am to 9:30pm, bringing together women artisans and young entrepreneurs from across the city.

Organisers said young entrepreneurs will showcase handcrafted creations, innovative products and passion-driven ventures at the marketplace.

The initiative goes beyond the idea of a conventional marketplace, serving instead as a celebration of women's empowerment and a platform to support local livelihoods, nurture talent, and strengthen communities, they added.

The WOW Market is also aligned with IHG Hotels and Resorts' global Giving for Good Month campaign, carrying a strong message of compassion and social impact.

Each purchase made at the event will directly support local women artisans and small business owners, with the goal of fostering inclusive growth and sustainable livelihoods.

Calling the initiative a "landmark event in Dhaka's cultural calendar," organisers emphasised that every item on display tells a story of artistry, determination, and hope.
