'Show zero tolerance to maintain product quality'

Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun has asked the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) to show zero tolerance policy for maintaining quality of products.
"BSTI will have to be strict to prevent any irregularities related to product quality and measurement," he said while speaking at a discussion on 'International System of Unites-Fundamentally better' in the city on Monday, reports BSS.
The programme was held at BSTI auditorium to mark the 'World Metrology Day-2019', said a press release.
"The recent activities of BSTI is laudable to protect the quality of products," Humayun said. State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was present as the special guest while Industries Secretary M Abdul Halim chaired the programme.
Kamal Mojumder underscored the need for opening BSTI office in the district level for ensuring the quality of products across the country.
