Bangladesh's mobile phone subscribers reach 162.6m, Internet subscribers 98.136m
World Information Technology and Service Alliance (WITSA) Secretary General Dr James Poisant has highly appreciated Bangladesh's progress in the ICT over the last couple of years, reports UNB.
"Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in ICT development," he observed. The number of mobile phone subscribers in Bangladesh has reached 162.6 million while internet subscribers 98.136 million, he said.
The (WITSA) secretary general has come to Dhaka to attend the 'Digital Device and Innovation Expo-2019' now going on at the capital's Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
He also addressed the inaugural session of the three-day digital device and innovation expo, the first-ever event on Monday.
Highlighting various areas of progress, including people's access to Internet and mobile phones, Dr Poisant said digital age changes everything.
The WITSA secretary general also appreciated efforts of Bangladeshi ICT manufacturers, their designs and innovations.
