Tax waiver on 425 import items

The government has waived import taxes on a total of 425 products, including fish and ready-made garment, in a bid for dependencies from import taxes to phase out.

In the budget proposal for fiscal year 2023-24, finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has lifted supplementary duty (SD) from 234 import products and regulatory duty (RD) from 191 products.

The products are mainly different types of fish, fabric, overcoat, jersey, women's wear that have lesser import presently.
