Teknaf land port earned Tk 158.6m revenue in Mar

COX'S BAZAR, Apr 11: Teknaf land port earned over Tk 158.63 million (Tk 15 crore 86 lakh 39 thousands) in revenue last month.

According to sources, traders imported various commodities worth Tk 859.86 million (Tk 85 crore 48 lakh 69 thousands) from Myanmar through Teknaf land port against 469 bill of entries in March this year. At the same time, they exported goods worth over Tk 18.76 million (Tk one crore 87 lakh 64 thousands) through this land port to Myanmar.

When contacted, Jahangir Hossain, revenue officer of customs department of the Teknaf land port, told this correspondent that the National Board of Revenue (NBR) had set a Tk 77.01 million (Tk seven crore 71 lakh) revenue earning target in March 2018 for this land port.

So, the country's southern most land port earned Tk 11.53 million (8.0 crore 15 lakh 39 thousands) more revenue than the target set by the NBR for it in March, he said.

He added that revenue worth Tk 140.2 million (Tk 14 crore two lakh) was earned by this land port in February.
