Turn archetypal public service into modern one: Speakers

Speakers stressed on organising workshops for developing innovative human resources with the view to providing better public services.
They urged to turn the archetypal practices of public service into a time-befitting, innovative one, saying modern public administration and training require a change in attitude. They made the call at a five-day workshop on 'Innovation in Public Service', now being held at the auditorium of Eastern Cables Limited in Chittagong, a statement said on Monday.
Jointly organised by Cabinet Division and Access to Information (a2i) project under the Prime Minister's Office, the workshop was inaugurated on Saturday in the port city aiming to enhance the skills of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) officials.
Presided over by BSEC's acting Chairman Sima Saha, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Md Enamul Hoque was present in the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.
