UNDP's Impact Forum opens today

Senior government and the UN officials and leaders of trade bodies and the private sector attend a day-long programme on 'Impact Bangladesh Forum 2017' today (Sunday). The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bangladesh and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) will jointly organise the programme at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital. State minister for finance MA Mannan and president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin) will remain present at the opening plenary session as the chief guest and the special guest respectively. Finance minister AMA Muhith will be present as the chief guest at the closing plenary, while state minister for ICT division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and principal secretary to the Prime Minister Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury will be the special guests.

The forum will highlight the regional and sub-regional physical infrastructure connectivity for economic acceleration and logistics development for doing an efficient and effective way of doing business in Bangladesh. Deputy Country Director of the UNDP Bangladesh Kyoko Yokosuka will deliver on 'Scaling Impact: Investing in Growth and SDGs at once,' while president of DCCI Abul Kasem Khan will address on the 'Importance of Convening Multi- stakeholder Platforms to Unlock the SDGs Business Case' at the opening plenary.
