Vietnam's wood, woodwork sector to grow 13 pc

HANOI, Jan 29 (Xinhua): Vietnam's wood and woodwork industry this year will grow 13 per cent against last year, according to the Wood & Forest Products Association of Vietnam on Monday.

Vietnam is expected to gain 10.2 billion U.S. dollars from exporting wood, woodwork and non-wood forest products in 2018, some 11.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, and 13 billion U.S. dollars in 2020.

Specifically, the country is predicted to make wood and woodwork export turnovers of nearly 8.7 billion U.S. dollars this year, up from over 7.6 billion U.S. dollars last year. Its major export markets include the United States, Japan, China and the European Union.
