The Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has arranged BASIS national ICT awards in the capital for the third time in a row.
The organisers said the BASIS National ICT Awards 2019 has kicked off with the aim to pick nominees for the forthcoming APICTA Awards.
Winners from the third edition of the BASIS National ICT Awards will be nominated for the APICTA Awards 2019 to be held on November 18-23 at Ha Long Bay in Vietnam, BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir announced at a press conference in the capital on Tuesday.
Almas Kabir said innovative and prospective ICT projects of Bangladesh would get recognition at the third BASIS National ICT Awards.
"Through a robust judging process the best ones would be selected," said the BASIS president.
These projects would depict the potential of Bangladesh's information and communication technology (ICT) sector, Kabir said.
"Also, the selected projects will bear the flag of Bangladesh at the APICTA Awards 2019," the organiser said.
Addressing the press conference, Convenor of the BASIS National ICT Awards Didarul Alam said the objective of the event is to give recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals, students, entrepreneurs, SMEs and organisations with operations in Bangladesh.
Process to file primary applications for the event will continue till July 18, said the organisers.
