World Metrology Day today

World Metrology Day will be observed today (Sunday).

Creating a mass awareness in measurements in everyday life is the main objective of the day, said a statement.

The theme of this year is constant evolution of the International System of Units.

This day will be celebrated all over the world as well as in Bangladesh.

President Md. Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu M.P and Industries Secretary Mohammad Abdullah issued separate messages on the occasion.

Director of BIPM (International Bureau of Weights and Measures) Martin Milton also issued a message.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has organized several programme as a national standards body. BSTI has organized discussion meeting of its regional offices as a part of this programme.

Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar will telecast special programme about this purpose. On the other hand different important places of capital city are being decorated by banner, festoon and placards.

BSTI is going to organise a discussion meeting today at its Head Office at Tejgaon Industrial Area.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu M.P will be the chief guest on that occasion.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal M.P; FBCCI President Md. Sahfiul Islam Mohiuddin and additional secretary of industries ministry Md. Dabirul Islam will be present as special guests.
