Russian envoy, Iranian senior official hold talks on Syria

MOSCOW, Nov 06 (TASS): Russian Presidential Envoy for Syria Alexander Lavrentyev and Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani held talks in Tehran on Monday, the Tasnim news agency said.

According to the news agency, Shamkhani praised cooperation between Tehran, Damascus and Moscow, pointing out that it had become a leading factor in giving the upper hand to the Syrian army against terrorism.

The Russian presidential envoy for Syria has arrived in Iran to deliver a report on the recent quadrilateral summit of Russia, Turkey, France and Germany held in Istanbul.

On October 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held quadrilateral talks on Syria in Istanbul.
