162 bridges, culverts built in two Rangpur UZs

RANGPUR, July 20 (BSS): The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has constructed 162 small bridges and culverts spending Tk 389.2 million on the rural roads, canals and rivers improving communications in Mithapukur and Pirganj upazilas in last 10 years.

"The bridges and culverts have been constructed in the district under the 'construction of bridge/culvert of around 15-metre in length on the rural roads' project of the ministry," District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer ATM Akhteruzzaman told the news agency.

The infrastructures have been constructed to improve rural road communication networks and releasing excess water during calamities like floods to attain sustainable progress in rural areas on way to achieve the sustainable development goals.
