Boy drowns in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, May 18 (BSS): A nine-year old boy drowned in a pond at Bishaw colony of Akbarshah thana in the city on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Rasel, 09, son of Mohammad Noyon, hailed from city's Bishaw colony area.

Divers of Fire Service recovered the body from the pond around 11.30am after a frantic search.

Rasel was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the duty doctors declared him dead.

Later, the body was handed over to his family, Alauddin Talukder added.
