BOGURA, June 12: A good number of hotels and resorts have been set up across the district to render residential facility both for native and foreign tourists.
According to the Department of Archeology office sources, more than 1,000 tourists visit the 'Pundra Nagar', ancient capital of Bangladesh, round the year.
Especially a good number of French visit the area on their research purpose.
Some tourists from subcontinent and other European countries also visit the historical place round the year, the sources added.
Sources said all the resorts and hotels here offer both the AC and non-AC rooms with other facilities for the guests.
Rent of a standard single room is around Tk 2800 per night, while a double is Tk 4,000.
A deluxe room is Tk 4,800 while double is at Tk 6000, super deluxe double room is Tk 6,400.
Deluxe suite is available at Tk 11,200 per night, presidential suite is Tk 16,000.
Hotel sources said people also rent rooms or hall rooms for meeting, seminar and workshop.
Manager of a renowned resort in the area said they try to ensure quality services for their guests.
All types of modern facilities, like, hot and cold running water, IDD telephone, color TV with satellite and internet connection are available in the rooms.
Besides, swimming pool, health club, basketball court, business centre, gift shop laundry and park are also there at all the quality hotels and resorts here, he added.
One Masudur Rahman said the government should give more attention to construct international standard resorts in the area to draw more foreign tourists.
Local sources said numbers of tourists have increased in recent time as Mohasthan gorh was declared the cultural capital of SAARC a few years ago.
