Six SAU students fall unconscious protesting fellow’s death

SYLHET, Mar 24 (UNB): At least six female students of Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) lost consciousness due to the unbearable heat in Chowhatta area on Sunday noon while staging demonstrations protesting the death of Wasim Afnan in Saturday's road accident.

The victims-Seema Debnath, Imrana Ratri, Madiha Binte Mohiuddin, Tamanna Tabasum Jinia, Fatema Taju Johora Arpa and Tabassum Mehejabin-were taken to Osmani Medical College Hospital, said SAU Journalists Association President Uttam Kumar Das.

Among them, two got released and were sent back to dormitory after primary treatment and the others were undergoing treatment at the hospital at the time of submitting this report, he added.

Meanwhile, SAU Proctor Dr Mrityunjoy Kunda visited the sick students at the hospital.
