Demise of an iconic musician

The musical maestro and legendary musician Ayub Bachchu is no more. This news came to me like a bolt from the blue. I am deeply saddened by his demise. He is one of the pioneers who popularised band music among the Bangladeshi music-lovers around the 80s. I have been his fan since my childhood. His music has been a source of joy for me. It helped me forget stress in my daily life.

His songs and tunes have gained him a special place in the hearts of many people. Among his best tracks are 'Shei tumi', 'Rupali guitar', 'Madhobi', 'Shei tara bhora raate', 'Ami baro maash', 'maa', 'ami koshto peta bhalobashi' etc. These compositions are evergreen. They will remain alive among his fans and music-lovers for ages.

Ayub Bachchu's death is an irreparable loss for the nation. May the Almighty rest him in eternal peace.
