Generosity of Jacinda Ardern and the people of New Zealand

New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern had given birth to a baby girl in June 2018, becoming the first sitting world leader to give birth in nearly three decades. The last head of government to give birth while in power was Benazir Bhutto in 1990, while she was prime minister of Pakistan. Jacinda came to limelight when she had taken her six weeks of maternity leave to take care of her baby as an affectionate mother. She also made history as the youngest prime minister in the world.

After the Christchurch killings in New Zealand, Jacinda arranged to open the parliament session with recitation from the holy Quran. She vowed never to utter the name of the twin-mosque gunman. She opened a sombre parliament with an evocative "as-salaam alaikum-peace be upon him" message.

Ms Arden arranged all radio stations and television channels to broadcast the holy Quran and Ajaan to express sympathy to the Muslims community. She also declared that the arms law of the country will be reviewed. Nearly all military-styled guns were banned by New Zealand six days after the Christchurch attack. She also called upon the world leaders to fight against white supremacists and extremists.

She has become the icon of the world media through her credible efforts to help the families of the victims of the attack. Through her efforts, she has proved herself as a real friend of the distraught victims and their loved ones in New Zealand and also to the entire Muslim world.

Most people around the world--Muslims in particular-- are praising the Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern and her nation for their empathy and response to the twin mosque attacks which caused 50 deaths and had many injured. The world can quite a lot from New Zealand as they have shown the highest support to the grieving families and the Muslim nation.

The whole human race is one family and when one part is in pain, the other part cannot remain indifferent. The terrorist wanted to create a rift between Muslims and non-Muslims but the incident led to stronger bonds. During the Muslim prayer on last Friday, 20,000 people including the Prime Minister of New Zealand were standing quietly at Christchurch's Hagley Park, in front of Al Noor Mosque. This indicates that the perpetrator has failed to achieve his goal of spreading hatred.

Everyone should remember that terrorists have no religion. They cannot be eliminated with guns or hatred.
