Simplify foreign employees' clearance

Many skilled foreigners are working in the country, some of whom are instilling skills into local employees. There is scope for utilising their contribution in building quality manpower that is required for our emerging economy. However, some businesses are facing hard time obtaining security clearance for their foreign employees from the special branch of the police.

It takes months to get the security clearance and many investors are facing tough time as they don't get security clearance for their foreign employees. This delay hampers their production and the foreign employees cannot concentrate on their jobs due to the uncertainty. The process of issuing a security clearance should not take more than two weeks but in reality, it often takes 3-4 months. The lengthy and tiresome process often discourages people to seek employment visa. We are living in an age of information technology and we must simplify the security clearance process to make doing business easier and encourage foreigners to invest in Bangladesh.
