A total of 56 companies will be awarded the National Export Trophy 2015-16 for their outstanding performance in the export sector, according to the commerce ministry.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the trophies to these companies at Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on December 02.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will also be present at the award giving ceremony.
"The companies have been selected for the export trophies on the basis of their export performance," a commerce ministry official told the FE.
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday congratulated the exporters for winning the National Export Trophy 2015-16.
Gold, silver and bronze trophies will be presented to the business enterprises or establishments, the official said.
The commerce ministry had already announced the names of award-winning companies under 24 categories through a gazette notification.
Of the 56 companies, 25 enterprises had been selected for gold trophy, 17 for silver trophy and 14 for bronze trophy for the fiscal year 2015-16.
According to the gazette notification, gold trophy winners are Rifat Garments, Square Fashions Ltd, Square Textiles Ltd, Envoy Textiles Ltd, Zaber and Zubair Fabrics, Noman Terry Towel, Seamark (BD) Ltd, Uttra Path Sangstha, Akij Jute Mills, Picard Bangladesh, Bay Footwear, Mansur General Trading Company, Prome Agro Foods Ltd, Rajdhani Enterprise, Karupanna Rangpur, Bengal Plastic International, Shinepukur Ceramics, Uniglory Cycle Industries, Marine Safety System, Square Pharmaceuticals, Service Engine Ltd, Universal Jeans, RM Interlinings and Moon Trims. Zaber and Zubair Fabrics Ltd won the gold trophy as the highest export-earning company.
Silver trophy winners include Ananta Garments Ltd, Four H Fashions Ltd, Zaber Spinning Mills Ltd, Paramount Textile Ltd, Jalalabad Frozen Foods Ltd, Janata Jute Mills, RMM Leather Industries, FB Footwear Ltd, Heritage Enterprise, Square Food and Beverage Ltd, Classical Handmade Products BD, Bengal Plastic Industry, BSRM Steels Ltd, Incepta Pharmaceuticals, Graphic People Ltd, Pacific Jeans and Uniglory Paper and Packaging Ltd.
The companies selected for bronze trophy are GMS Composite Knitting Ind. Ltd, Zaber Spinning Mills, Noman Textile Mills Ltd, Kuliarchar Sea Foods (Cox's Bazar) Ltd, Rahman Jute Spinners (Pvt) Ltd, Leatherex Footwear Ind. Ltd, Akij Footwear Ltd, Sabjiana Ltd, CORR -The Jute Works, Durable Plastics Ltd, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd (BPL), Jeans 2000 Ltd, DB Tex Ltd and That's It Footwear Ltd.
