HC turns down writ challenging MPs holding posts

The High Court turned down on Monday a writ filed challenging the legality of holding posts by members of the 11th parliament. The bench of Justice Sheikh Hassan Arif and Justice Razik-Al-Jalil passed the order. Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon stood for the petitioner while deputy attorney general Mukhlesur Rahman for the state. — UNB

Police recover grenade, bullets from city dustbin

Police recovered a grenade and bullets from a dustbin in the city's Paltan Box Culvert Road on Sunday midnight. A group of street children found those and contacted police. Later, a bomb disposal unit went to the site and recovered the grenade and 55 bullets of rifle, pistol and shotgun. — UNB
