Two 'robbers' die in Kushtia, Cox's Bazar 'gunfights'

Two suspected robbers were killed in separate 'gunfights' with law enforcers in Cox's Bazar and Kushtia districts early Monday. In Cox's Bazar, Abul Hasan Manik, 30, a suspected pirate, was killed in a reported gunfight with RAB. In Kushtia, a suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of robbers at Hawakhali field in Bheramara upazila. The deceased could not be identified yet. — UNB

Block all porn sites for six months: HC

The High Court asked on Monday the authorities concerned to block all the pornography websites in the country for six months. The rule also sought explanation as to why there will be no provision for attaching the National Identity Card (NID) number in all social media, including Facebook, for rating user's age and why directives should not be given to stop lucrative short-term internet offers from mobile phone companies. — UNB
