Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina may not have a formal meeting with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi during the former's visit to Shantiniketan on May 25.
But both will have the opportunity to have a series of informal meetings.
Hasina is scheduled to visit West Bengal on May 25-26.
During her visit to Shantiniketan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be there and the two leaders will share the dais.
Schedule for bilateral meeting is yet to be finalised till Monday, a foreign ministry official told the FE.
"Earlier, it was planned that both Hasina and Modi will fly by a helicopter from Kolkata to Bolpur but now we are working out whether this trip can be made by train", the official told the FE.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be inaugurating the newly-built 'Bangladesh Bhaban' at Tagore Museum in Shantiniketan on May 25 in the presence of her Indian counterpart and the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
PM Sheikh Hasina will also visit Asansol on May 26 to receive an honorary doctorate from Kazi Nazrul University. She will be accompanied by Mamata Banerjee.
Political analysts said with elections due end of this year in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina is facing the pressure to reach an agreement on the Teesta front.
The fruitful negotiation on the Teesta agreement for a higher share of water from the river has long been opposed by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and officials from both sides showed little hope of making any headway on the issue that has been pending between Dhaka and New Delhi since negotiations began in 1983.
Modi had met Hasina in London in April on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Summit.
A formal meeting between PM Hasina and Mamata Banerjee is yet to be scheduled but both would remain present together at the Kazi Nazrul University, where Hasina will be conferred an honorary doctorate.
Meanwhile, Visva-Bharati will present Sheikh Hasina a set of Rabindra Chitrabali (Tagore's paintings in four volumes), terracotta work by Kala-Bhavan teacher Gautam Das, enamel painting by Kala Bhavan teacher Sheikh Sahajahan and a calligraphy by Banerjee, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The university authorities will also present Modi a replica of the original manuscript of Tagore's poem 'chitto jetha bhoyshunyo' both in Bengali and the poet's translation of it in English (Where the mind is without fear) which is part of Gitanjali.
The first edition of Gitanjali (Song Offerings) was published in London by the Chiswick Press for The India Society in 1912.
Modi would attend the convocation of Visva-Bharati and inauguration of the newly-constructed Bangladesh Bhaban.
Mamata Banerjee will also share the dais with the two prime ministers and governor Keshari Nath Tripathi.
There will be some other special souvenirs made by students of various departments of Visva-Bharati, including an alpana of a dancing peacock by artist Sudhiranjan Mukherjee.
Mamata will be presented with a set of Rabindra Chitrabali along with Tagore's photographs and a bilingual edition of Gitanjali.
