A total of 10 leading business houses of the country have received the "Standard Chartered Bangladesh Trade Award 2017".
The awards were formally handed over to the winning entities at a function held at a city hotel on Saturday.
The awards were accorded in two categories- textile and garments and non-textile and garments.
Winning groups in the textile and garments category were- Epic Group, YKK Bangladesh, Youngone Corporation, Ha-Meem group, Square Group.
Winners in the non-textile and garments were: Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation, TK Group of Industries, Akij Group, City Group and Meghna Group of Industries.
In addition, the bank felicitated three of the last National Export Trophy winners- Pran-RFL group, Noman Group and Pacific Jeans Group.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh Naser Ezaz Bijoy said that the awardees have been honoured for being the top trade clients of the bank in 2017.
"Around 13 per cent of the country's trade is currently being handled by SCB directly and indirectly", Mr Bijoy said.
Regional Head of Trade of Standard Chartered for ASEAN & South Asia Saket Sarda and Head of Transaction Banking of Standard Chartered Bangladesh Apurva Jain also spoke on the occasion where senior officials of the bank were also present.
