June 20, 2018 00:00:00

Health Minister Mohammed Nasim said on Tuesday 500-bed National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), popularly known as Pangu Hospital, will be turned into a 1000-bed one with the inauguration of a new 14-storey building in September, reports UNB.

After visiting the new building, he said the hospital is being expanded at the directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to cope with the huge pressure of patients.

Nasim said work on the new building is at the final stage. "The activities of the expanded hospital will begin in September. This will be Asia's largest orthopaedic hospital," he said.
