The closing ceremony of 'English for Business Success' programme, organised by the Chevron and the British Council, was held in the city on Wednesday night.

The event showcased the impact and outcome of the 15-month project funded by the Chevron. It is a part of a government initiative titled 'Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP)'.

The initiative is financed by the Asian Development Bank and the Government of Bangladesh.

Under this project, over 3,000 graduates aged between 18 and 40 from across Bangladesh were trained in English communication skills for the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.

The British Council also developed the curriculum in collaboration with the Bangladesh Association of Call Centre and Outsourcing (BACCO) and imparted the trainings in 13 call centres nationwide.
