Govt to introduce e-passport, e-gate at airports, says Kamal

The government will introduce electronic passport (e-passport) and electronic gate (e-gate) at international airports, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told the launching ceremony of the national call centre for emergency services, reports BSS.

Prime Minister's Infor-mation and Communication Technology Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy launched the call centre for toll-free national emergency helpline-999, installed at the Crime Command and Control Centre of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in city's Abdul Gani Road. The home minister said that the e-passport and e-gate would be introduced in line with Prime Minister's vision for Digital Bangladesh.
